National Novel Writing Month! Yup, it’s that time of year again, November, that magical month where thousands of people across the nation join together to finally get around to finishing that novel that’s been itching away at them from the back of their mind. No longer will we repress those urges to write down every little plot idea. No longer will our pages go blank and our pens go cold. No longer will we subject ourselves to the harsh reality of daily social life because on this month, I am a hardcore writer; malnourished, sleep deprived, and determined to destroy those 50,000 words before November 30th! Boo Yeah!!!
Why am I telling you this? Well, I am using this NaNoWriMo as motivation to finally get to those novels I’ve been promising and the creators suggest telling as many people as possible which will help to guilt me into finishing my novel if I ever get discouraged or lose spirit. Therefore, with you as my witness I will do my absolute best to cross that 50k finish line on my first try; which is a great challenge. If I succeed, this will serve as a major victory against that procrastination monster that lies deep within me; it must die!!
Anyway, the object of NaNoWriMo is to put away your inner editor and write write write on with reckless abandon, so I thought it would be funny to simply post my unedited and ugly drafts up here for you to mock and criticize. I will be writing two novels the first of which is titled Intense, which is a love story between two young men. The second story is a fantasy novel that I don’t want to give away right now; plus I don’t have a title for it yet. Currently, I am preparing details for both novels so I can join my fellow NaNoes for the kickoff of NaNoWriMo at midnight on November 1st in my full Halloween get-up. Just look out for incoming updates, you never know where they may hit. Happy November!
