Today’s pendant: Angel Wing
I am about to give away a secret that I will most likely kick myself later for telling but it’s a silly little thing anyway so I will just have to get over it. If you know me personally, then you know that I am always wearing one of four necklaces, each with a single and unique pendant hanging from it. Which are as follows: 1) A single black stone, 2) my personal emblem, 3) a single angel wing, and last 4) my zodiac charm which is Taurus. What no one knows, has ever suspected, or even thought of asking, is that this is my little way of wearing my heart on my sleeve, so to speak. However, some might not know what wearing one’s heart on their sleeve means so I shall educate. In the Middle Ages, when knights fought each other they “would often dedicate their performance to a woman of the court—usually someone they were in love with. To let their feelings be known to all, the knights pinned a handkerchief or a scarf belonging to the woman (a favor) onto their sleeves.” Thus is wearing one’s heart on one’s sleeve. However in modern terms, this phrase means to let one’s emotions and affections clear for all to see. So in my world, each pendant represents one or two emotions that I am experiencing that particular day. Although I am letting the world know exactly how I am feeling through these pendants, will anyone bother to notice? Unfortunately for you, I already feel I have given too much of myself away so I will leave you to guess what pendant means what, but I will give you this much: Looks can be deceiving. Black is not only the color of death and sorrow, but also the color of the night sky.
